A CONVERSATION WITH FRANK ANTHONY

What are your three of your favorite songs ever? “God Only Knows” – Beach Boys, “Baby, You’re A Rich Man” – Beatles, “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” – Procol Harum
If you could have lunch with anyone (present or past), who would it be? John Lennon, Steve Allen or Allan Sherman
If you could be 25 years old during any decade, which decade would it be? And why? In the year 2525, so I’d live another 500 years and see the flying cars the Jetsons promised us

If you were given $100,000 and told that you had to spend it all in one day and it had to be for YOU, what would you spend it on? Either a hundred thousand cups of soup or a bunch of musical instruments, Gibson, Fender and Rickenbacker Guitars, Ludwig Drums and a Beatle wig
If you could own any exotic pet in the world, what would it be? A three-toed, lop-eared, red crested unicorn
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have access to one food and one beverage, what would they be? Pizza and vino
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you want to go? And why? Assisi, a city in Italy. It is the most serene, peaceful place I have ever been. Either that or Chuck E. Cheese.
AND A WORD FROM FRANK ANTHONY… I wanted to be a musician early in life. Played clarinet in elementary school. That really paid off! Switched to guitar in the ‘60s. Bought a used Stella guitar from our Golden Arrow Milkman. Remember Golden Arrow? Johnny Downs on Chanel 10 used to host a cartoon show and did live commercials for Golden Arrow Dairy while dancing on a gigantic Golden Arrow Milk Bottle. Wow, what special effects.
But I digress.

I was in a number of unsuccessful rock bands in high school and college but gave up. I knew that whatever I chose to do for a living had to have something to do with music, because I certainly wasn’t going to work for a living! I know…RADIO! Of course! So while I may not be an internationally known musical superstar I do get to play their songs on the radio. Been doing it for almost 35 years right here in San Diego. I was 3 when I started. I have played “Kung Fu Fighting” 11,457 times.
